If you haven’t already, please set your clocks one hour ahead – Daylight Saving Time began yesterday.
Please mark your calendar for the California High School Exit Exam or “CAHSEE” to be administered next week, on Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18. ALL Sophomores and Freshmen will be tested, beginning at 8:00 am on both days. The school schedule remains unchanged, with school starting at 8:00 am and ending at 2:55 pm.
During testing, Juniors can take on March 17 either the ASVAB exam for free or the Hybrid SAT/ACT practice exam for $5; and attend a series of college and career workshops on March 18 (please sign up on your Blueprint).
And Seniors during testing can take post-high school workshops on March 18. ALL Seniors are also required to attend the Senior Assembly at 10:00 on March 18. Graduation and all end-of-year events will be covered at the Assembly.
Finally, don’t forget that there is a Late Start day this Wednesday, March 11.

- Tuesday, March 10: GHS Boys Golf v. Temple City, 2:30 pm at the Alhambra Golf Course.
- Tuesday, March 10: Dog Haus Fundraiser for GHS PTSA (every Tuesday): See flyer for more information.
- Wednesday, March 11: Late Start Day. 1st period begins at 9:40 am. All students must be on campus by 9:30 am.
- Wednesday, March 11: Joint Music Festival of the GHS and JMS Orchestras, 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, Goodson Theatre.
- Wednesday, March 11: GHS Boys Volleyball v. Alhambra, Large Field. Varsity plays at 3:16 pm, JV team plays at 4:45 pm.
- Thursday, March 12: GHS Track & Field v. Azusa, 3: 15 pm.
- Thursday, March 12: GHS Parent Seminar on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) -- the new system of State academic testing, 6:30 pm at the Goodson Theatre.
- Friday, March 13: Job Applications due for GHS students interested in working in the Cafeteria, the Library or as part of the Writing Workshop during the next school year. Please turn in your application by 3:00 pm in the College and Career Center.
- Friday, March 13: GHS Baseball v. Azusa, Varsity team plays here at 3:15 pm (JV and Freshmen teams are away).
- Friday and Saturday, March 13-14: GHS Swim, Mount Sac Invitations, TBA.
- Saturday, March 14: GHS Softball v. Garfield, Varsity team plays here at 9:00 am; and again at 10:45 am v. King Drew.
Please keep these in mind for next week:
- Tuesday and Wednesday, March 17-18: GHS 10th grade CAHSEE Testing, testing begins at 8:00 am.
- Wednesday, March 18: GHS School Site Council Meeting, 6:00 pm, Principals’ Conference Room.
- Friday, March 20: GHS Reports Card to be sent home.
