Teen Safe Driving

Picture
In the United States, more tween and teen deaths are caused by automobile crashes than by drugs and suicide combined. Distracted and reckless driving is the #1 killer of teenagers in America.

The GHS PTSA wants to reduce these preventable deaths by raising awareness and providing education about the very real danger of distracted driving and inexperienced decision making.
  • 1-in-3 teenagers has an accident in their first year of driving.
  • 16 year old drivers have a    9x higher fatality rate than that of 30-60 year old drivers.
  • Teenagers make up 7% of licensed drivers, but suffer 14% of fatalities.
  • Having three or more passengers quadruples a teen driver's risk of crashing as compared to driving alone.
